BGW 21st Century Solutions announced the launch of a mobile wallet service that allows cell phone users to make donations of any amount at any time via a simple text message. Today, more and more payments are made electronically and church members are less and less likely to carry cash or checks. Up to now, there was no affordable or practical way to collect tithes from those who attend church without a checkbook. Luckily, almost everyone carries a cell phone!
Religion News Service reports:
The recession and a sluggish recovery have made for a lighter collection plate in recent years, but a new study shows that giving to U.S. congregations bounced back in 2011 as the economy improved.
Don't just take our word for it. The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and Kaptivate recently released "New Directions", a report about the adoption of Mobile Technology with special focus on text messaging, fundraising and mobile giving. The results may surprise you!
“Churches, the future is now and it’s on the mobile. I just can’t say this enough: rethink how people are finding your church, activities, and resources, and make it easy for them to do it while on the go.”
